Looked After Children
The Headteacher is the designated member of staff with responsibility for promoting the
educational achievement of Looked After Children.
Complaints
We hope that your child and your family will be very happy throughout your time with us at
Plasnewydd Primary School. However, if you have a concern or are dissatisfied with something,
we would like to help resolve this discretely and at the earliest opportunity. Parents can usual
resolve most matters informally by talking to the class teacher in the first instance, or a
member of the senior management team if more significant. In most cases, we would expect
that your concern is resolved informally at this stage. However, if you feel that your initial
concern has not been dealt with appropriately you should put your complaint in writing to the
Headteacher who will investigate your complaint.
It is rare that a complaint will progress any further, but should you feel that the matter has
not been dealt with fairly, then the final stage in our complaint policy is to contact the chair of
governors via the school office to ask for further consideration by the Complaints Committee
of the governing body. Our complaints procedure is explained in detail in our complaints policy,
available upon request. Please note that the school and governing body will handle complaints in
accordance with this policy, so parents are respectfully asked to recognise that any attempts to
bypass the relevant stages of this process will only result in being asked to follow the process in
accordance with our policy.
We hope that this information has been useful. Should you require further clarity or
information on any issues raised, please contact the head teacher. Please would you ensure that
all forms enclosed within this brochure are completed and returned to school prior to or on your
child9s first day with us.

the school, normally as part of what is called the Pupil Level Annual Schools Census, which takes
place in January each year.
The school, LA and National Assembly for Wales receive information about exam and national
curriculum assessment and test results.
