Extra Curricular Activities
At Plasnewydd we place a great deal of emphasis on extra curricular activities as these have an
important role to play in the development of the whole child. We offer a wide range of extracurricular activities and pupils are encouraged to participate.
Opportunities are available during lunch periods and after school for pupils to join various clubs.
These include netball, tag rugby, football, art, homework and school choir.
Upper Juniors are given the opportunity of attending residential courses, e.g. Manor Adventure.
Such courses enable pupils to develop their skills and talents, broaden their outlook on life, and
respond to personal challenges and to recognise their responsibilities towards others.
Educational visits are an integral part of school life and visits to the theatre, museums and local
places of interest are arranged at various times throughout the year.
Sporting Activities
Plasnewydd Primary School is committed to sporting pursuits of all kinds and pupils have
opportunities to participate in a range of sports through the taught curriculum and beyond.
Teams represent the school at netball, football and cricket.
