In school we teach the children about the importance of balanced diet, 8five-a-day9 and
drinking water regularly. The lunchtime supervisors are expected to reinforce these aims
and encourage children to bring healthy choices to school for their lunch. We ask parents
to work with us and to help support these aims as much as possible.
Where we become aware that a child9s lunch is particularly inappropriate, or that the child
cannot comfortably manage the food that is being provided we will contact the parent to
discuss the matter.
Sun Safety
Parents will be encouraged to apply Sunscreen (Factor 25+) on their
children before school each morning and to provide sunscreen (Factor
25+) for their children9s own use during the day. Younger children may be
assisted with the application of their sunscreen if they cannot do it for
themselves. Parents are required to notify the school if they are
unwilling for this to be done. Further details are given in the Sun

Headlice
Head lice can, from time to time, become a problem in school. Head lice will happily make
their home in the cleanest head of hair. They simply walk from one head to another when
two heads briefly make contact. Prevention is difficult, identification and remedy are
