Breakfast Club
Plasnewydd Primary is able to provide free breakfasts under the scheme funded by the Welsh
Government and is provided by the local authority9s catering service. Breakfast club starts at
8:20a.m. with admissions until 8:30am every day. This can be accessed via the Plasnewydd
Street gate. For further details, please contact the school office.
Playtimes
Playtimes are fully supervised by members of staff. During wet playtimes, children remain in their
classrooms under supervision.
The school has a playground buddy system which operates. Children volunteer to support
playground activities at both playtime and lunchtime.
Breaktime Snacks
To encourage healthy eating, children are asked to bring fruit to school.
Sweets, crisps, chocolate and chewing gum are not permitted for break time snacks.
Fresh water dispensers are available throughout the school. Pupils are
routinely encouraged to bring water bottles to school for use during
lessons. However, we are advised that only sports bottles intended
for regular use should be used
as the plastics used in small drinks bottles are not designed to be
washed
and reused and may present health risks.
School Meals
Our school meals are provided by BCBC Catering Service,
freshly prepared on site. Parents may choose for their child to
either have a cooked meal or packed lunch each day (provided
by BCBC Catering) or provide a packed lunch of their own.
Vegetarian/vegan options are available, please inform us in
writing if you wish your child to take up this option. If your
child has any allergies or specific medical or religious dietary
requirements, please inform the school and an individual menu
